In 2006, ORE worked pro-bono with members from a low-income neighborhood in the East-Village of Manhattan to design and construct a sustainably-built community park. Vertical gardens provide shade along paths and paved surfaces, while harvested rainwater circulates to simultaneously cool people and nourish plants.  GrowNYC and ORE worked with volunteers to transform a vacant dirt lot into an urban oasis.
