The Annex

“The Annex” Project is the immediate site activation adjacent to the remediation and development of the Gowanus Power House. As the first phase of development, The Annex is meant to bring traffic to the site, building a community of makers, and strengthening the development’s brand while maximizing revenues through the Dekalb Market and Brooklyn Night Bazaar model of mixed retail, food vendors, studio space, and event venue.


On weekdays, “The Annex” functions with a 12,000 sq.ft. mensa and a 20,000 sq.ft. studio / retail space on the ground floor, and 27,000 sq.ft. of office space on the 2nd and 3rd floors. On weekends, in keeping with the Dekalb Market model, the 29,500 sq.ft. outdoor space is transformed into a marketplace.
