Food-Education Pavilion and Farm to Teach and Practice Wellness for Supportive Housing in the Bronx – Breaking ground 2020

New York based non-profit developer Community Access hired ORE to create an educational pavilion, urban farm, playground, and exercise area centered on the physical and mental wellness of growing your own food.

All landscaping including fruit trees is edible.  Community Access is building programming around the pavilion operating as food education classroom, greenhouse, open-air kitchen, and workshop.

The Farm and pavilions’ main design feature is inclusion.  The generational programming has been purposefully blended, putting growing area in the children’s playground, overlapping the prepared food education area, senior exercise areas and ADA farm beds.
